to the teen titans searcher . . .

You poor, poor fannish soul. Don't you know Bart Allen(tm)(c)(etc) was ditched with the rest of the Young Justice team? Only Robin migrated to the Teen Titans.

And if thats not enough, the book Impulse appears to be gone, possible renamed Kid Flash, as Impulse himself seems to have been re-monikered Kid Flash and wears a red and yellow/orange contume instead of the red/white.

I think.

Unless, of course you were looking for me, in which case, you're right where you belong. XD XD *kicked*

(edited to say: I thought the profile box in the upper left corner of this blog had my name, which is also bart. But it doesn't. It only has my nick. That was pretty clever and provacy-concious of me, but it made that last joke make no sense. This bart will henceforth refrain from trying to make jokes. That will be all.)

live streaming mp3 radio, baibeh!

Hard Rock FM Jakarta's live streaming is working for the first time ever. At least for me and my pokey connection. I suspect it works fine for everyone else. It skips and drops out often.

But dear god, its so nice to hear an indonesian voice talking gaul. And I never thought I'd say this, but Indo rock is sounding good to me. So good in fact, that I'm wishing they'd drop the western pop/rock thats on right now. ^^;;

This perantau would give a right arm at the moment to have someone Indo to talk to. XP I don't want to go back to live in Indo just yet, maybe not ever, but the even the voices on the commercials have me somewhere on the verge of laughing at the familiar humor and just putting my head on my knees and doing something undignified like bawling.

But then, you know, a guy's gotta be a little ja-im, so I just grin stupidly at my screen and that green zig-zag winamp visualization and think: I should go to bed, but how can I turn this beautiful jayus-ness off?

Click your heels together and say; theres no place like home! Theres no place like home! And nothing like live streaming mp3 radio. ^^V

Good Omens (or why I wish I was Neil Gaiman)

I read a few past entries and read me promising to talk about this book. Not that anyone reads this or cares, but hey, suffer.

I'm not done reading yet, (this is about my normal readign speed. ^^; but that just means I can't accidentally give away the ending. Okay, I can. I skipped ahead. But I'll try really hard not to. Promise.

Back to Good Omens. By Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet, in case the header didn't tip you off. The story begins way, way in the beginning. Garden of Eve, post kicking-out-of-garden. The Angel of the East gate is Aziraphale, and the Serpent is Crawly. He's thinking of changing it, though. It just isn't him. (Through the rest of the book hes "Crowley", which I assume is still pronounced "Crawly".) Also, he has a cool car, later, and is human shaped.

Both angel and demon work on earth, doing good or evil deeds and winning souls over for heaven or hell, as the case may be. Then, word comes that The End is near. Except both angel and demon--both having become less demony and angelish through association with each other and humans and the world in general--decide that they really like earth, and that "the boredom in Heaven is almost as bad as the excitement in Hell." They decide to save the world, or at least put its demise off awhile.

The story involves demonic highways, raining fish, biker of the apocalypse, a mislaid anti-christ, a witchunter's army and cassettes that misteriously become Queen albums when left in the car too long. All that, and it manages to make sense. Theres about a dozen moments of pure genius on every page, and footnotes to help us make sense of the madness. (Not really. The footnotes are madness, too. XD XD XD) I could quote you more lines, but they're too damn good to hear second hand.

I intend to quote it often.

(For extra amusement, I try to imagine translating it into Indo and picture the reaction of the fervently pious masses, but that's neither here nor there. Besides, the puns would be too hard.)

So, thats that. Not too kyaa-ish, right?
